These adorable lab safety rules posters will add a little fun to your classroom!
Description
Looking for irresistible LAB SAFETY POSTERS to add to your classroom decor? If pounding LAB SAFETY RULES into your students’ brains feels like nailing oatmeal to the wall, I have just the thing for you! These adorable lab safety rules posters will add a little fun. You will love the adorable, inclusive images used in these posters! Instead of boring images of lab safety rules, these images highlight what not to do in the science lab.
You’ve seen it all…. googles on foreheads, unattended Bunsen burners, and my personal favorite, the impromptu snack break in the middle of a dissection. Classic, right? We all know that when it comes to lab safety, our students can be “creative,” to put it nicely. These illustrations will certainly drive the point home!
This collection of posters highlights the 12 most important rules of lab safety… who can really remember more than 12 rules, anyway? (See the list of rules below.) There are two versions of each poster – one with fun hashtags (like “#GEEKGOGGLESON” and “#THISAINTNORODEO”) and one version without hashtags.
These posters were created to be used with the my Lab Safety Slideshow and Doodle Notes – they use the same images and terminology.
This resource is part of a larger lab safety resource which includes slideshows, doodle notes, posters, games and activities.

How is the Resource Helpful?
- Save Prep Time: With ready-to-use posters, in several different versions, this resource saves you precious prep time.
- Visual Reminders: Having safety rules in the form of posters allows constant visibility. Students are more likely to recall and adhere to these rules when they see them regularly.
- Consistent Reinforcement: The use of the same images and terminology across the slide show, doodle notes, and posters reinforces the lab safety rules. Repetition and consistency are key to learning and retaining information.
- Classroom Decor: These posters not only serve an educational purpose but can also enhance the aesthetics of your classroom. An attractive classroom environment can be more stimulating and engaging for students.
- Quick Reference Points: In case of uncertainty or a safety-related question, students can quickly refer to the posters without having to interrupt the class or wait for one-on-one clarification from the teacher.
- Promotes Independence: When students have the information readily available, they become more independent in their learning and can take responsibility for their safety.
- Saves Class Time: Instead of repeating the same safety instructions verbally, teachers can direct students’ attention to the posters, saving precious class time for actual learning.
- Sets Expectations: Clearly displayed rules can help set expectations for behavior in the lab. This can assist in maintaining discipline and a smooth flow during practical sessions.
- Universal Understanding: Images transcend language barriers. For classrooms with ESL students, these image-based posters can be a great way to convey important safety information.
- Fun Element: Let’s face it, safety talks can be pretty dry. The lighthearted and engaging design of this resource, including its use of humorous hashtags, can make the learning process more enjoyable and relatable for students.
- Empowers Substitute Teachers: In the absence of the regular teacher, these posters can serve as useful tools for substitutes who may not be completely familiar with the class’s regular practices.
