Christmas Science Color-Changing Poinsettia Ornaments | Object Lesson

Description

Your students will love this science Christmas activity! They will make a Christmas ornament using science. This EASY Christmas STEAM activity uses poinsettia leaves to make COLOR-CHANGING ornaments.

This is a faith-based lesson but it can be used in a secular environment also! Simply skip over the introduction. There is plenty of supplemental information about poinsettias and why they change color in the “Make Connections” section.

This Christmas object lesson connects the cliche “Jesus is the Reason for the Season” with not missing the “point” (play on words with POINseTtia) of Christmas.

These color-changing Christmas ornaments are easy to make and a great way to use poinsettia leaves! Changes in color may be temporary. The ornament will fade over time.
